More BHP Sites adopt MP-5
Two mine sites operated by the world’s largest mining company,
BHP Billiton recently adopted MP-5 for their environmental data management
BHP Pinto Valley copper in Arizona, and
the joint BHP Maatschappij/Alcoa bauxite mine in Suriname.
Regulatory reporting is particularly
challenging for operators in the USA, where there are pre-defined
layouts at both a state and federal level that must be strictly
adhered to. Prior to implementing MP-5, these reports were
processed by external consultants at considerable cost.
EHS Data worked closely with staff at
the Pinto Valley site to provide templates for their NPDES DMR and
Arizona state SMRF reports. Now, report generation is a simple
double click. Even this stage can be automated, and the compiled
report emailed.
