Using a centralised data management system enables sharing of information in a multi-user environment, both on local and wide area networks (LAN/WAN).  Unlike spreadsheets and many home made databases, access is controlled and auditable.

The MP-5 client is designed to operate over both local and wide area networks. MP-5.Web runs through a web browser and is also designed for remote connections.

Use of MP-5 over a reasonable WAN is perfectly acceptable because it summarises data on the server tier by default and there client receives only the required information. WAN use is the modus operandi for a significant proportion of our installations.

For many operations, speed over a dedicated 256 kbps WAN will be only marginally different from a LAN. Even on shared lines with lower bandwidth MP-5 will often perform perfectly satisfactorily.

MP-5 is also compatible with Citrix and Remote desktop.
